Kensington Palace is managed by Historic Royal Palaces, the independent charity that also looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, the Banqueting House and Kew Palace. We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built. Historic Royal Palaces receives no funding from the Government or the Crown.
Between June 2010 and Spring 2012 Kensington Palace will undergo a major transformation which will result in a new entrance to the east, the building of a new café and shop, the installation of a lift to give level access to all floors and an exhibition on the life of Queen Victoria who was born in the palace. The State Apartments will remain open with the innovative visitor experience of The Enchanted Palace.
